“Mingled Plan” - I think what often makes a painting is whether there is enough contrast. Especially with light areas and dark areas. The darkness is what makes the light shine through. This is true in life as well. As Leonard Cohen wrote, “There is a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in.” My grandmother’s each experienced plenty of darkness in their lives, but as grandmothers they always let their light shine for their grandchildren. Remarkable.
