Outside Potter Lake

“Outside Potter Lake” - This was July’s painting. In the last year or so I started painting sunflowers. They remind me of two things: Kansas and my grandmother. Kansas is known as the sunflower state, and as an alum of the University of Kansas it holds a special place in my heart. My grandmother was an artist and painted many sunflowers. I am lucky enough to have one of her sunflower paintings and cherish it almost as much as I do the Jayhawks. Kidding, kidding. 😉

p.s. Potter Lake is a small pond on KU’s campus, hence the title.
